St Teresa's Catholic Primary School

Growing and learning together, as part of God’s family, to be the best we can be.

  1. About Us

Welcome to St Teresa's

St Teresa's Catholic Primary School is located in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.

St. Teresa's is a Catholic Voluntary Aided School providing education for children aged 4 - 11 years.  We currently have 210 pupils on roll in single form classes.

In the context of a caring Christian atmosphere our highly skilled and dedicated staff strive to deliver a curriculum, which not only meets the requirements of the National Curriculum but enhances it by presenting it from a Christian prospective. In addition to helping children attain high academic standards, we strive to build self-confidence and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas. We attach great importance to the development of children's social skills and seek to enable them to build good relationships based on mutual respect and appreciation. Children are encouraged to work in co-operation and to be supportive of one another.

Whilst the school is surrounded by housing and is close to the town centre, it does have a surprising amount of outside, green space. There is space for sports, forest school and quiet, reflective places for prayer and collective worship. The school is made up of families from a range of backgrounds and some children have a wide variety of needs. The school works closely and successfully with those families, so much so that many do not want to leave the school to access specialist provsion. The local community is strong and supportive with the Parish Priest of St Teresa’s church playing an active role in both the school and the wider area.

We are committed to ensuring that all children at St Teresa's succeed. The staff are experienced at assessing each pupil's individual level of development and then supporting them in moving, at their own pace, towards their full potential. We strive to ensure that all children feel good about themselves and acquire a high level of self-esteem.

We value your involvement in this process and we will provide frequent opportunities to keep you informed about ways in which we are working with your child. We are keen to have parental involvement at all levels and if you have time to spare to come to school and work with us, you will be made very welcome.

Through our curriculum, prayer and worship and the experience of being a member of a caring Christian community we hope to bring children into a closer loving relationship with God our Father.
